Competitive Audit for User Expectations: To further understand user expectations, a competitive audit was performed. This involved analyzing and studying the offerings of competitors in the market. By comparing and contrasting with existing solutions, it became possible to identify gaps, trends, and features that users might be expecting. This information provided valuable guidance for the subsequent design process.
Creating Wireframes on Paper and Digital Platforms: After drawing inferences from the user research and competitive audit, the next step was to create wireframes. The versatility of paper allowed for quick sketching and ideation, enabling rapid iterations during brainstorming sessions. On the other hand, digital platforms offered precision. By combining both approaches, I ensured a comprehensive exploration of design possibilities and effectively translated user insights into user-friendly and intuitive interfaces.
User Testing and Iteration: The wireframes were put to the test through user testing. The goal was to evaluate how well the designs aligned with users' needs and expectations. This involved gathering feedback directly from users through interviews or other methods. Based on the feedback received, necessary iterations were made to refine and improve the wireframes. This iterative process continued until the wireframes reached a stage where they adequately met user requirements.
Creating the Final Mock-up: After incorporating the insights from user testing and making necessary refinements, the wireframes evolved into the final mock-up. The final mock-up is a more polished and detailed representation of the application's user interface, providing a near-complete picture of the final product's appearance and functionality.
I learned a lot about the process of creating an application through this being my very first design project. It made me realize that designing is not as easy as it is often projected to be.
During the testing phase of the wireframe, I was surprised to see users getting lost in the payment section. While designing, it seemed like a straightforward process, but during iteration, I realized that certain users might find it difficult to access that page. To address this, I made the process less complicated by adding more contrast and readability to the buttons and icons.

During my role as a UX designer, I held the responsibility of spearheading UX research, which involved conducting thorough competitive audits to gather valuable insights. Utilizing these insights, I proceeded to create wireframes, exploring both traditional paper-based and digital platforms. The iterative process was crucial as it entailed testing the wireframes and mockups on actual users, allowing me to fine-tune the designs based on user feedback. Ultimately, I was responsible for crafting the final mockup, ensuring that every step of the journey was thoughtfully guided by user-centric principles.
In my role as a UX designer, I utilized a range of powerful tools and techniques to enhance the design process. Figma and Procreate proved invaluable in creating wireframes and visually appealing designs. Conducting competitive analyses allowed me to gain insights from industry trends and competitors' offerings, ensuring our product stood out in the market. Employing card sorting techniques helped me understand user preferences and organize information effectively. Lastly, using Zoom for testing facilitated seamless user feedback sessions, ensuring our designs were optimized for a delightful user experience.

As this was my first UX project overall, coming up with scenarios and crafting appropriate questions for user feedback was quite challenging. Thankfully, I found various articles online that helped me formulate the right questions and prompts for users.
The entire project was a massive learning experience for me. I particularly enjoyed receiving feedback from users and using it to iterate on my designs, ensuring a system that was free of ambiguity and providing users with a pleasant and enjoyable experience while navigating the application.

Interviews to Understand Users: The first step involved conducting interviews with the target users to gain a comprehensive understanding of their preferences, needs, and behaviors. The aim was to gather insights on various aspects, including who the users are (demographics, personas), their specific needs and pain points, why they use the product/service, when and where they typically interact with the product, and how their overall experience could be enhanced.
